    These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Letters from Mashi website and your purchase of a subscription. By placing an order, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

    Letters from Mashi is operated by Mashi Peiris, a sole trader registered in the Netherlands. KvK: 90902351, BTW: NL865492530B01. Contact: hello@mashipeiris.com

    1. The service

    Letters from Mashi is a monthly physical letter subscription. Each month, subscribers receive a handwritten-style letter, a poem card with an art print, and a monthly ritual or surprise item, delivered by post to the address provided at checkout.

    The contents, theme, and design of each monthly edition are at the sole discretion of Letters from Mashi.

    2. Eligibility

    By placing an order, you confirm that:

    • You are at least 18 years of age
    • You have the legal capacity to enter into a contract
    • The information you provide is accurate and complete

    3. Subscription and billing

    Letters from Mashi operates as a monthly rolling subscription. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.

    • Your subscription begins on the date of your first payment
    • Payment is taken monthly on or around the same date each month
    • Payments are processed securely via Shopify Payments
    • You are responsible for ensuring your payment details remain current and valid
    • If a payment fails, we will attempt to notify you by email. Continued failure to pay may result in suspension of your subscription.

    4. Dispatch and delivery

    Letters are dispatched by the 5th of each month for the preceding month's subscribers.

    Delivery is made via PostNL standard international post. Delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. No tracking is provided.

    We are not responsible for delays caused by postal services, customs, or events outside our control. Once your letter is handed to PostNL, the risk of loss passes to you.

    You are responsible for providing an accurate and complete delivery address. If a letter is returned due to an incorrect address, we are not obliged to re-send it without additional cost.

    5. Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

    Under EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU), you have the right to withdraw from your subscription contract within 14 days of your first order without giving any reason.

    To exercise this right, notify us within 14 days of your first payment at: hello@mashipeiris.com

    If your letter has already been dispatched at the time of withdrawal, you will not be entitled to a refund of that month's fee, as the service will have been partially performed with your prior consent.

    6. Prices

    All prices are displayed in Euros (EUR) inclusive of any applicable Dutch VAT (btw).

    We reserve the right to change subscription prices. If we do, we will notify you in advance. Continued subscription after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

    7. Intellectual property

    All content produced and distributed by Letters from Mashi, including but not limited to letters, poems, artwork, and imagery, is the intellectual property of Mashi Peiris. You may not reproduce, distribute, or publish any content without prior written consent.

    8. Limitation of liability

    To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch and EU law, Letters from Mashi is not liable for:

    • Loss or damage caused by postal delays or non-delivery
    • Any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service

    Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

    9. Governing law

    These Terms and Conditions are governed by Dutch law. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in the Netherlands.
